In the map of West Bengal, Kulti occupies a conspicuous position with regard to its industrial development and coal reserve since pre-independence time. Once Kulti was regarded as one of the most significant industrial and commercial town of this state . Situated in the western part of West Bengal, in the district of ? Burdwan, (Latitude 24'26' North, Longitude 8653 East). The town spreads over from Damodar River basin on the south and Barakar River basin on the north and is surrounded by the hills of Manbhum areas on the south-western part. It is nearly away from Kolkata.
