Examination Structure

CURRICULUM-DISTRIBUTION

All the students of General Degree Course in both Science and Arts have to qualify in Compulsory English and Compulsory Bengali / Alternative English/Hindi Examination of 50 marks each at the end of the 1 year of study and in Environmental Studies of 50 marks at the end of the third year. Besides the compulsory subjects, each General Course student is to study 3 combination subjects consisting of 4 papers of 100 marks in three parts(1+2+1). For Honours Students, the number of combination subjects to be studied is two only (1+2). In addition to the combination subjects Honours students are to read 2 papers in the 1st year (Part 1), 2 papers in the 2nd year (Part 2) and 4 papers in the 3rd year (Part3)(2+2+4).
